my 7 year old son spent a couple of hours working out my camera features yesterday while i worked. he only took some 200 odd photos: the continuous shooting mode was particularly popular...

i managed to wrestle back the camera for a little time with the macro lens.

oh ho ho! that lens is incredible!

this is the end of a superfine merino habu yarn.

i think the wool classers of this country would be pleased with these micro fibres.

so what to do with children on a miserable saturday morning with husband away for the weekend?

well, in our case, make a few of these little guys.

yes, i did end up doing all the wor, but hey, they sure enjoyed making up a dramatised story with them afterwards.

and this evening? heading out for a play and pasta.

ps i have tiny, tiny fingernails! so far, so good.

it has reached new levels whilst not knitting. i find i do it when sketch designing or puzzling over a construction detail. or strangely, while reading. and ploughing through 7 books on my 2 week holiday was not ideal.

sadly, i fear it is genetic. my mother successfully broke her habit in her 30s. and i find my daughter is always picking and tearing her fingernails.

but i can hardly ask her to stop if i don't.

thankfully, for the past 2 weeks, the only spinning has been anais in her tutu. [she chose the black, i promise!]

true to my last post, i did not take any crafting on my holiday and immersed myself in books, water and icecream. that queensland sunshine is particularly conducive to such ventures.
