my thursday threads are slowly, slowly taking shape.
after ripping back and restarting twice (really painful to do when it takes so very long to knit), i think the gauge is finally behaving itself!
these threads are so incredibly fine and the resultant knit is perfectly lightweight for my plans. the formed "fabric" has some good structure thanks to the ramie, whilst the merino gives it a softness.
this is my first knit design for a top based on this archetype and it is very much a learning process of the way the knitted fabric responds compared to a textile fabric; realising i don't need to shape as much as a textile requires and enjoying the drape the knit inherently creates.
proving more interesting and enjoyable than i had expected. probably because it is harder than i thought, but working it out is satisfying.
