i spent my holiday at the beach with knitting needles in arm's reach.
after swatching and washing this linen, i settled on my needle size and stitch count.
i cast on many, many tiny stitches. enough to wrap around me and overlap appropriately.
i knitted. and purled. and knitted. and purled. over. and over.
the garment steadily growing. the weight on my lap steadily increasing.
this was the perfect thing to take to while away the hours. to stop thinking of work. of chores. of phone calls. of meals. of plans.
letting the stitches form and entwine. slide and weave. with nary a second glance.
i now need to finish writing the pattern and knit on with memories of summer s l o w.
